[성명] 해방연대 회원들을 즉각 석방하라! 국가보안법을 철폐하라!
또다시 중세식 마녀사냥이 자행되었다. 5월 22일 서울지방경찰청 보안수사대는 국가보안법 위반혐의로 노동해방실쳔연대(해방연대) 회원 4명을 연행하였다. 또 진보넷에 있는 해방연대 공식이메일도 압수수색하였다.
그러나 해방연대 회원들은 무죄다. 소수 자본만을 위한 정부 정책을 비판하고 고통받는 노동자민중과 투쟁해온 해방연대의 활동은 정당하다. 비정규직·정리해고를 양산하면서 소수 1%의 배는 불리고, 99% 노동자민중의 삶은 벼랑끝으로 내모는 자본주의 체제 그 자체를 바꾸어야 한다는 해방연대의 주장도 잘못된 것이 없다.
더욱이 이런 주장과 활동이 올바른가를 검증하는 것은 국민이지, 결코 국가보안법이라는 악법이 될 수 없다. 국가보안법은 일제시대 독립운동가를 탄압한 치안유지법이 변용된 것으로, 민주주의사회에서 당연히 보장되어야 할 언론, 출판, 집회, 결사의 자유를 탄압하는 악법 중의 악법이기 때문이다.
실제 국제인권기구들은 국가보안법이 인권을 침해한다는 이유로 지속적으로 그 폐지를 권고한 바 있다. 게다가 이른바 선진국 중 자본주의를 철폐하고 사회주의를 건설해야 한다는 것을 선전선동했다는 이유로 국가가 앞장서서 탄압하는 나라는 이 세상 어디에도 없다.
그런데도 이명박 정부와 여야 각 정당들은 아직도 국가보안법을 폐지하지 않고 있다. 오히려 이명박정부 들어 국가보안법을 통한 탄압은 더욱 늘어나면서, 대한민국은 사찰공화국이 되어 가고 있다. 특히 해방연대에 대한 탄압이 검찰의 통진당에 대한 압수수색과 연이어 벌어졌다는 점에서, 우리는 현 정부가 노동자민중투쟁과 반정부투쟁을 억압하기 위해 공안정국을 조성하려는 것이 아닌지 심각한 우려를 표명하지 않을 수 없다.
따라서 이명박 정부는 연행한 해방연대 회원들을 즉각 석방해야 한다. 희대의 악법인 국가보안법을 활용한 탄압을 중단해야 한다. 나아가 노동자민중의 힘으로 민주주의와 인권을 파괴하고 노동자민중운동을 탄압하는 도구이자, 자본주의 사회가 아닌 다른 사회를 향한 활동을 원천 봉쇄하는 국가보안법을 철폐시켜야 한다.
